Phone usage
Zero phone rule. Phone in the storage box, off, the moment you clock in.
Phone usage is not allowed during shift, period. Not on the floor, not at the counter, not at the wait ledge, not in the dish pit, not in the back office, not in the bathroom.
On the clock, no phone on your person. The moment you clock in, your phone goes in the storage box, off. Not in your apron, not in your back pocket, not on a shelf you can sneak to. The box, off.
Absolutely no phones on shift. A phone visible on your person during a shift, even once, is grounds for termination. No second warning. No I-was-just-checking-the-time. We have clocks for that.
Emergencies happen. If you are expecting a real emergency call, tell the manager at clock-in, the manager will hold your phone and check it for you. The exception is rare; the rule is the rule.
