Eye contact rules

Greet, order, drop, goodbye, all with eye contact.
- Greet with eye contact, every time.
- Take the order with eye contact, not eyes on the screen.
- Drop the food with eye contact, not eyes on the plate.
- Say goodbye with eye contact, not over the shoulder.
- If a catches your eye from a table, walk over, do not nod and keep going.
These are the five non-negotiable eye contact moments. We call them the Five Handoffs. See Section 10A for the full standard.
